Flybe Nordic increases in importance

Finnair deepens efforts to improve Europe network profitability

Finnair and Europe’s biggest regional airline, UK-based Flybe, today announced that they plan to extend their cooperation to offer “cost-efficient European connections for Finnair’s passengers”. The airlines created Flybe Nordic AB last year, of which Flybe owns 60% and Finnair 40%. The two partners have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding according to which Finnair will transfer twelve 100-seat Embraer aircraft to Flybe. From October, Flybe will operate these planes on Finnair routes for Finnair.
The move is part of Finnair’s previously announced efforts to improve the profitability of its Europe network, while providing a platform for growth for Flybe Nordic.
