Fraport €1.2bn Greek airport deal is near

German operator to sign Greek deal in coming days
By the end of the year the German airport operator Fraport will sign a €1.2 billion deal to lease and manage 14 airports in Greece, the head of the Greek privatisation agency has confirmed.
“We will proceed with signing the agreement with Fraport in the coming 10 days,” HRADF chief Stergios Pitsiorlas revealed.
Negotiations for the airport deal were launched before the left-wing Syriza party won the general election in January and stopped asset sales. It will be the first big privatisation completed since Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras came to power and more such deals will follow in 2016.
