Havana flights awarded to US airlines

Eight airlines given tentative rights to fly
Eight US airlines have been tentatively awarded flights to Havana, Cuba, from 10 airlines across the United States.
The airports will get at least one weekly direct flight to the Cuban capital, the Department of Transportation revealed, with 14 different daily routes to Havana approved, plus one route as a Saturday-only service. Some of the flights could take off this autumn.
These will be among the first scheduled services between the USA and Cuba for almost five decades. Flights to other Cuban cities were awarded in June, for six US airlines to fly from five places in the US to nine Cuban cities other than Havana. The delay for Havana routes was due to airlines’ intense interest.
