Heathrow Terminal 2 to offer personal shoppers

€13.5 billion terminal to be full of high-end shops

When the new-look Terminal 2 at London’s Heathrow Airport opens in a few weeks, personal shoppers will be there to smarten up passengers before their flights.

That’s because Heathrow will become the world’s first airport to offer a personal shopping service. Dedicated fashion stylists will help shoppers to choose clothes and accessories that passengers will be able to try on in private suites.

The £11 billion (€13.5 billion) terminal will be full of high-end shops, restaurants and cafes, the airport says, such as a caviar bar, wellness spa, champagne bar and Heston Blumenthal’s The Perfectionist’s Café, which will feature the first wood-burning oven in an airport – designed to make “exceptional food, quickly”. Other big names include Harrods, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Bvlgari, Hugo Boss, Paul Smith and the department store John Lewis. Free beauty treatments will be given in the duty free area.

Closed in 2009, Terminal 2 will reopen on June 4 in the presence of the Queen and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh. Capacity at the Star Alliance terminal will be 15.8 million passengers a year.
