Hobbit: Airline reveals biggest plane graphic

Graphic features images from new Hobbit movie

Air New Zealand has revealed a unique new livery to celebrate its partnership with the soon-to-be-released movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The film gets its premier this coming Wednesday in Wellington, capital of New Zealand, before being rolled out in cinemas around the world. The Air New Zealand livery, on one of its Boeing 777-300ERs, is the biggest graphic ever to be put on an aircraft (830m²). It features images and characters from the film.
The Boeing 777-300ER is the longest in the Air New Zealand fleet. The artwork took six days and around 400 man-hours to apply. The aircraft has now departed for Los Angeles and London before returning to New Zealand in time for the premier.
