Best Western guests can now book directly on Facebook
Business and leisure tourists can now book a room at any of Best Western’s hotels directly on Facebook. It is the first global hotel company to take the step of tapping into Facebook’s 800 million active users by implementing a special booking tool. Guests are promised a quick transaction. They then receive a private reservation confirmation via e-mail.
Best Western has about 244,700 fans, ahead of Hilton Worldwide with 241,900, Marriott International with 101,500, Hyatt with 167,100, Four Seasons with 99,500 and Starwood with 35,300. But of course the fanbase depends more on chains and brands than on the owning company.
“We’re embarking on a new age in media,” Best Western’s senior vice president marketing and sales, Dorothy Dowling, said. “It requires different thinking.”
