Hotel “redefining lifestyle” opens in Reykjavik

World’s first property with Canopy by Hilton brand
The world’s first Canopy by Hilton, a new lifestyle brand, has opened in Reykjavik. Seven more hotels carrying the brand are due to open by early 2019, all of them in the US except one in London.
At hotels with the new brand, which is “a whole new take on boutique-hotel accommodation”, rooms are “thoughtfully designed for your comfort” with every detail “chosen to calm your nights and refresh your days”.
Hilton promises pleasant surprises, with “a welcome gift, an array of thoughtfully themed and priced foodie bags, and a free tasting every evening”.
Other details include an “open, welcoming lobby” where “the buzz says come on in. The vibe says stay awhile.” Plus: Friendly enthusiasts as staff, mobile check-in and always a light snack in the café, “a casual menu with healthful choices or an inviting beverage waiting for you”.
Canopy by Hilton Reykjavik City Centre was designed as a natural extension of Hverfisgata Street, with local design influences and natural materials used throughout its architecture and interiors.
The 112-room hotel is “steeped in local culture, and guests can taste Iceland’s famous Omnom chocolate on site, enjoy water naturally filtered by Icelandic lava and immerse themselves in local literature when relaxing in poets’ corner – an ideal setting for literary relaxation”.
