Hurtigruten’s Northern Lights charters sell out

Line plans to get winter 2013-14 sailings on sale soon

Hurtigruten, the Norwegian ferry and cruise line that sails to the very north of Scandinavia, says its Northern Lights charter program for regional airports is already “99% sold out” for the first three months of 2013. The line is operating 25 departures from Tromsø to Kirkenes, all of which are full. It is now planning to get winter 2013-14 on sale within the next couple of weeks so that agents can take advantage of the demand.
“Agents all around the country have really got behind these unique trips and we want to introduce new regional airports so that even more customers can have our products on their doorsteps,” Kathryn Beadle, managing director at Hurtigruten, said. “The recent publicity surrounding the Northern Lights has definitely moved the experience up the bucket list. It seems that the more people that get to experience this unique phenomenon the more interest there is from others to see it too.”
