Hurtigruten brings in new fare structure

Passengers to choose from basic, select or platinum packages
Hurtigruten has launched a new fare structure, set to come into force from April 18 and applying to sailings from April 1, 2017. It will offer the choice of three different options – a basic, select or platinum package.
The basic package will be “no-frills”, including only a pre-selected cabin as well as meals and water. Customers will be able to choose their cabin grade, but will not be given a choice of room number.
The select option will enable customers to choose their cabin and preferred dining time. Passengers will also be given complimentary wi-fi, tea and coffee throughout the voyage.
The platinum package will offer the same, as well as a la carte dining, an inclusive drinks package, exclusive shore excursions, a visit to the ship’s bridge and private transfers in Bergen and Trondheim. They will also be given a welcome basket with champagne, and complimentary use of binoculars.
There are also plans to alter the boarding process, with Hurtigruten exploring the option of self-check-in desks that would issue passengers with their room key card.
