Iberia to be hit by 15 strike dates

Employees to strike 15 days in February and March

Iberia employees say they are preparing to strike on 15 dates in February and March in protest at plans by the airline to fire 4500 people, or 23% of the workforce. The strikes at the Spanish oneworld member will take place on February 18-22, March 4-8 and March 18-22.
Gabriel Mocho, president of the International Transport Workers Federation, blames Willie Walsh, CEO of IAG, the British Airways and Iberia parent company, for the crisis. But IAG says the layoffs are necessary for Iberia’s survival.
