Iceland Tours told to withdraw advertising

UK advertising watchdog criticises ads with lead-in price

Iceland Tours has been told to withdraw two sets of ads on posters and on the website in the UK after the Advertising Standards Authority there followed up on a customer complaint.

The company advertised three-night breaks to the Golden Circle in Iceland “from £299”. But, when asked by the authority, it could not show that at least 10% of trips were available at the lead-in price.

It also advertised a three-night break city break with whale watching for the same lead-in price. But the authority said the ad failed to make it clear the deal was available only on selected departure dates.
