Icelandair expands service from Toronto

Carrier increases capacity on a variety of routes in North America

Icelandair is to offer an expanded Canadian flight schedule from Toronto starting 30 March, to run until 9 January 2012, with four flights a week from Pearson International. Iceland recently ranked fourth out of 41 places to go in 2011 by The New York Times and the number-one travel destination for 2011 by USA Today.

Icelandair has been preparing for the increased demand in incoming tourism by its increasing capacity on a variety of routes. A seasonal service from Washington DC and additional flights from Seattle have already been announced along with additional morning flights during the summer from the year-round gateways of Boston and New York.

Icelandair has also announced services to a range of new destinations in Europe, and its 2011 network will feature the biggest schedule in its 73-year history. In addition to the service from Toronto, the airline also has direct flights to Iceland from Boston, New York-JFK and Seattle and a seasonal service from Washington DC, Minneapolis, Orlando and Halifax. Connections through its hub at Keflavik International Airport are available to destinations in Scandinavia, the UK and elsewhere in Europe.
