Icelandair flights to Vancouver take off

Seasonal route to Vancouver has two flights a week

Icelandair’s seasonal route to Vancouver in Canada took off yesterday, with two flights a week taking place until October 13. The airline says its route to Seattle just south of the border has been a success and it makes sense to open a route to Vancouver, opening up this part of Canada to destinations in Scandinavia via Keflavik in Iceland.

Icelandair offers a stopover in Iceland on the way over the Atlantic, with stays of up to seven days on the island possible without extra ticket costs.

Iceland’s biggest carrier flies to 38 destinations including 12 in North America – or 13 if factoring in both JFK and Newark in New York. It flies to four destinations in Canada – Halifax, Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton, the latter two being year-round routes.
