Incoming tourists ready for Sweden’s winter wonders

Stay in an ice-hotel, ride a snowmobile and visit the Kiruna Snow Festival

Visit Sweden has launched a campaign to attract tourists for the winter season. It urges visitors to stay in an ice-hotel, experience the wilderness by snowmobile, and enjoy Åre, “Northern Europe’s leading alpine sport resort”.
This is the time of year when snow- and ice-sculpting are revealed as an art form that is increasing in popularity. The winter park in Östersund is an ice-art centre where it’s possible to borrow an ice block along with the necessary tools on site. Events with a snow-and-ice theme include the Kiruna Snow Festival with its Swedish Open Championships of snow-sculpting and annual reindeer race.
