Joakim Landholm named commercial chief at SAS

Landholm to take on new responsibility no later than 1 April 2012

In the wake of Scandinavian Airlines’ new strategic direction being unveiled in September by CEO Rickard Gustafson, which included its commercial department splitting into two departments – Commercial and Marketing & Sales – the new head of Commercial has now been appointed. Joakim Landholm will take on responsibility as head of commercial, taking on his new role no later than 1 April 2012, and will also be a member of SAS’ group management team.
Landholm is currently the COO at RSA Scandinavia and has a background in both strategic and analytical functions at GE Money Bank, Accenture and Swedbank. Aged 42, he holds a Master of Science in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics. Gustafson describes him as “an experienced leader with a sharp intellect, who has throughout his career in various companies and industries repeatedly proven that he can define a plan and deliver accordingly.” The CEO describes the new commercial department as “one of SAS’ new four pillars.”
