Air France’s youthful carrier unveils new destinations
Norwegians who are curious to experience Joon, Air France’s new Paris-based millennial low-cost carrier, will be able to hop aboard a flight direct from Oslo to Paris next spring.
Joon has unveiled seven new medium-haul and long-haul destinations, including Oslo, the others being Rome, Naples, Istanbul, Cairo, Cape Town and Tehran.
The youthful airline began its first flights on December 1, to Barcelona, Berlin, Lisbon and Porto. It now says that from March 25, with fares starting at €39, including tax but excluding baggage, it will fly to Oslo with 18 weekly flights, Rome with 49 weekly flights, Naples with 14 weekly flights and Istanbul with seven weekly flights.
These destinations will be served by 174-seat A320s and 212-seat A321s, where “during the flight, the company’s customers have free access to YouJoon, the inflight streaming system on their own smartphone, tablet or laptop.”
From the same date, the route to Cairo launches with seven flights a week starting at €149. Then there will be Cape Town with three flights per week from April 1 starting at €279, and Tehran with three weekly flights from April 2 starting at €149.
Two other routes have been announced for the 2018 summer season, Fortaleza in Brazil and Mahé in the Seychelles, both launching at the start of May.
