Leading hotel companies launch search engine

Roomkey.com is launched by venture founded by six global hotel companies

Room Key, a new venture founded by six of the world’s leading hotel companies, has just launched Roomkey.com, a new hotel search engine that promises to give consumers simplicity, transparency, accuracy and a lot of choice. Founded by Choice Hotels International, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, InterContinental Hotels Group, Marriott International and Wyndham Hotel Group, Roomkey.com gives travellers “a search-and-book experience tailored for ease of hotel shopping through an uncluttered and trustworthy site”. The idea is to give consumers confidence that they are making the right choice by providing accurate hotel information from the source.
However, the site’s owners say that after a while Roomkey.com will evolve to also offer independent reviews and the ability to compare hotels with friends. The project is initially focusing on US travellers, followed by other regions.
