€27 million, 8,000sqm, 142-room hotel to open in 2019
Hot on the heels of designing, building and opening its new Lego ‘playhouse’, the original Legoland in Denmark has unveiled plans to construct a huge 8,000sqm, 142-room Lego castle hotel.
Families heading to Legoland in Billund will be able to spend the night memorably, allowing the kids to be knights, princesses and wizards in the amusement park.
“The castle hotel is expressly designed with our core target group, families with children, in mind,” said administrative director Christian Woller. “Because we only work in one Lego universe, it will also be completed at a level that we haven’t seen in Billund until now. So the castle will also be our absolute top product in our overnight stay portfolio.”
Legoland Billund will plunge DKK 200 million (€27 million) in the hotel, the company’s biggest ever single investment. The property, which will also include more than 900 Lego models, is expected to open by 2019.
