LH deepens cuts, to close Cologne office

Reorganisation of staff offices across Germany

Lufthansa Group is deepening its cost-savings program SCORE, which is now entering its second year. It plans to close the Lufthansa AG Cologne head office by 2017, a decision that will affect 365 staff, as well as the Norderstedt location of Lufthansa Revenue Services GmbH. In addition, 650 jobs will be cut at Lufthansa Technik by 2015.
Also Lufthansa CityLine may relocate its head office from Cologne to Munich, merging into the airline’s Munich operational base. That would affect around 300 staff. And 80% of the group’s 200 administrative personnel at a financial services unit in Hamburg will be transferred to a specialized service centre.
The aim of SCORE is to improve operating results by at least €1.5 billion by 2015.
