LOT beats SAS and Finnair in “on-time”

Flightstats lists airlines on their “on-time” record

LOT Polish Airlines is top of a list of “major European airlines” for on-time flights, with 89.35% of its flights being on time according to the flight tracking website Flightstats. SAS, which prides itself on its on-time record, came second this time followed by Finnair, Aer Lingus and KLM.
According to FlightStats, 87.91% of all SAS flights landed on time in 2012. This puts SAS second among European airlines and in third place in the Major International Airlines category.
“Although SAS did not finish in first place this year, we have still achieved a fantastic result,” Flemming Jensen, vice president operations at SAS, commented.
Among European regional airlines, the winner is Aegean Airlines, with a 93.02% on-time performance, closely followed by Brit Air, KLM Cityhopper, Regional Compagnie Aerienne and Tyrolean Airways.
Globally, it’s Japan Airlines which comes out on top for the third year in a row. SAS was one of the finalists on a global scale, the others being Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways and KLM.
Finnair was a runner-up among global airlines with the lowest number of global cancellations, the winner in this category being All Nippon Airways and the other finalists being El Al Airlines, Emirates and Singapore Airlines.
