Low-cost feeding long-haul “makes sense”

Perfectly fine for easyJet to feed long-haul, says CEO
It would be perfectly fine for low-cost carriers to provide feeder flights for airlines with long-haul routes like Air France, the chief executive of LCC easyJet says.
“It would make a lot of sense for us to offer feed. The thing we have to think very carefully about is that it doesn’t contaminate our model,” Carolyn McCall said at the Aviation Festival conference in London on Thursday.
“I think it’s inevitable that over the next five to ten years there will be much more of that happening. There will be many more alliances and partnerships where low cost feeds the legacy carriers.”
Suggestions have been accumulating that easyJet and Ryanair could make feeder flights for long-haul carriers, but no deals have yet been signed.
At the same conference, the bosses of easyJet and IAG both said that the recent Brexit vote has had no impact on operations.
McCall said that “from a longer-term point of view nothing has changed. The trigger hasn’t happened yet. The fundamentals of the industry haven’t changed because of Brexit.”
