Lufthansa and ground personnel agree pay deal

Agreement is for two 2.2% pay rises and a one-off payment
As it tries to declare peace with the various unions that have control over its employees, Lufthansa has signed a pay agreement with the union Verdi for around 33,000 ground personnel.
The deal is for a 2.2% pay rise for its ground staff as well as for employees at Lufthansa-Systems, Lufthansa-Service, Lufthansa Technik and Lufthansa Cargo, effective from January 1.
There will also be a one-off payment of €2,250 per full-time employee – and another 2.2% increase one year later.
Lufthansa is still involved in pay and retirement disputes with pilots and cabin crew.
