Lufthansa may beat Qatar to take first A320neo

German giant to take delivery of upgraded A320 this month
Lufthansa says it will be the first airline to fly the Airbus A320neo when it takes delivery of the plane this month.
It is taking on the upgraded A320 earlier than expected, while the original launch operator Qatar Airways said it was uncertain about the technical performance of its Pratt & Whitney engines.
“We expect to get our first A320neo in December and that would technically make us the launch operator,” a Lufthansa spokesman said.
The final touches to the A320neo are being made now it has received safety approval. However, neither Pratt nor Airbus have said which carrier would receive the jet first.
