Lufthansa opens biggest lounge today

Five new lounges give more space at Frankfurt Airport

This morning the new A-Plus Concourse at Frankfurt Airport goes into operation; at the same time Lufthansa opens five new lounges there. With a floor space of almost 2100 square metres, the Senator Lounge in the Non-Schengen area is Lufthansa’s largest lounge worldwide. Besides that, there is also a Business Lounge, while on the EU Departures and Arrivals level there is a Senator Lounge, a First Class Lounge and a Business Lounge.
In future, passengers at Frankfurt Airport will have a choice of 13 Lufthansa lounges plus the First Class Terminal with a total floor space of more than 17500 square metres. In the first half of 2013, Concourse A will also include a refurbished Senator Lounge. The total floor area of Lufthansa’s lounges at Frankfurt is therefore being increased by almost 50%.
Lufthansa says that the new design was developed in close cooperation with passengers. Customer focus groups had an opportunity to appraise the lounge concepts submitted, and customer evaluations had a decisive influence on the development of the new design. Among other things, the new lounges feature backlit walls with, for example, forest motifs, and materials such as leather and oak.
