Lufthansa to fly to Aalborg and Reykjavík

Flights are to/from Frankfurt, to launch in spring 2015

Lufthansa is to expand its services in next year’s summer flight timetable – to Aalborg in Denmark, and Reykjavík, Iceland. The airline says it will operate a new route between Frankfurt and Aalborg from March 29 with 14 flights a week. It will then launch a twice-weekly non-stop service between Frankfurt and Reykjavík, from May 2 until September 26.

The route to the commercial and university city of Aalborg will be Lufthansa’s third destination in Denmark after Copenhagen and Billund. It will make two flights a day with a Bombardier CRJ900, with 90 seats in business and economy class.

The service to Reykjavík, the world’s most northerly capital, will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays with an Airbus A319, with 138 seats in business and economy.

“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers non-stop flights from our biggest hub to another two attractive destinations,” says Kay Kratky, member of the board at Lufthansa based at Frankfurt. “The new service to Aalborg will provide us with access to an important part of northern Denmark, with its numerous businesses and universities. Reykjavík, on the other hand, is an attractive destination for both business and leisure travellers. The new connections are timed in such a way that both our customers from Europe and passengers from North America and Asia can transfer comfortably in Frankfurt.”
