Many will be cabin crew for Lufthansa and Eurowings
Lufthansa says it plans to hire 1,650 new employees this year. It needs more people to work at several points in Germany, more than half of them as flight attendants based in Munich and Frankfurt, the airline’s two main hubs.
Some cabin crew will be employed by Lufthansa Group’s new low-cost carrier Eurowings, which will be based at airports outside Germany, such as Vienna. The group ordered 10 A320ceo aircraft (current engine option, as opposed to neo, new engine option) for Eurowings in September.
In addition, Lufthansa Technik will employ 400 new staff members.
