Major airport opens new “smoking lounges”

Frankfurt lounges “ensure great climate for everyone”

Frankfurt Airport has been smoke-free since 2008, apart from its smoking booths available around the airport. Now Fraport has collaborated with the tobacco company JTI to create six Camel-themed smoking lounges.

Passengers can recline or sit back in comfortable chairs and enjoy a cigarette before or after a long flight without affecting nearby non-smokers.

The Camel smoking lounges can be used free of charge and around the clock. Four additional smoking lounges are in the planning phase. The glass smoking booths continue to be available.

Frankfurt Airport welcomed more than 57 million passengers in 2012.
