Make employees feel a sense of purpose

Leaders need to be engaged in a company at all levels

Purpose is the basis for creating vision in a company or organisation, executing the mission and keeping to its values. This basis provides clarity in the organisation, stimulates innovation and gives all employees a sense of purpose in what they do, all of which leads to success.
To achieve this, leaders have to first be sure of their own purpose – not just in knowing how to get what they want but also in being focused in driving and inspiring purpose throughout the organisation. Leaders can instil purpose by communicating it through their behaviour, even when it comes to taking part in the heavy lifting. Leaders like this inspire employees because they are engaged in all parts of the organisation and come across as being passionate about what they do as well as what they say.
