Man rapes sleeping tourist in Stockholm park

Police are searching Kronoberg Park for evidence

A “heavily intoxicated” male tourist who couldn’t find his way back to his Stockholm hotel, sleeping instead on a park bench, has been raped by an unknown assailant. He woke up early on Saturday morning as he was being raped, the newspaper Aftonbladet writes. Police have launched an investigation and have been searching Kronoberg Park for evidence.
“He lay down on a park bench and slept. He woke by being raped by another man. The rapist was not a person he knew,” a police spokesman told the paper. The victim, whose nationality was not specified, remains in hospital.
