Marriott’s Autograph heads to Tallinn

Upscale boutique hotel lures exclusive Marriott brand
Marriott’s exclusive Autograph Collection will add Tallinn’s upscale boutique-style Hotel Telegraaf in June, the first property in the Baltics to be part of the brand.
Legend Hotels, which is active in Estonia, Latvia and Poland, has signed a contract with Marriott International, becoming part of a sales network that offers more than 85 million regular customers services in 110 countries.
“I expect the license agreement with Marriott to result in up to 20% growth in the number of clients inside a few years, as well as saving in terms of booking fees,” said one of the Telegraaf’s owners Tarmo Sumberg.
Guests from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany and Russia are currently dominating at the 84-suite hotel, but Sumberg now expects clients from a more diverse range of countries. “We could see more Americans,” he said.
The hotel will keep its name and design but will add the Autograph Collection plaque to its door and the IT systems will be synchronised with the international group. Employees will undergo additional training as the chain demands rigorous security and safety procedures.
“Marriott are looking for special yet luxurious accommodation for their wealthy and individualistic clients, and the Telegraaf fits that concept perfectly,” Sumberg said.
