Mobile phone roaming costs cut within EU

Travellers will not miss those big phone bills after trips in Europe
Using your mobile phone in other countries in the European Union is now much cheaper, as cuts on roaming charges within all 28 countries of the EU have come into effect.
People making calls, texting or downloading data will save millions of euros in charges. And, from June 2017, roaming charges within the EU will no longer exist at all.
Consumers pay roaming charges whenever they connect to an operator in another country, in addition to the cost of the call itself.
The biggest gains will be for downloading data, for example emails, documents or social media, for which charges are reduced by around 75%. Charges for outgoing calls will be cut by a similar amount, while those for texting are down by 66%.
