More flights and a new route to Lapland

British airline Monarch reveals another UK route
More flights are landing in Finnish Lapland as demand continues to rise. British airline Monarch now says it will double the number of its flights to Kittilä and open a new route during the 2017-18 winter season.
In addition to Monarch’s twice-a-week route from London Gatwick in December-February, it will fly twice a week from Manchester to Kittilä from December – a route that has been extended until February 20.
The new route is Birmingham-Kittilä – also to be twice a week starting from December until the beginning of 2018.
Meanwhile, Finnair recently announced it would offer more flights between Helsinki and both Rovaniemi and Kuusamo, and also change its daily Helsinki-Ivalo-Kittilä route into direct routes from Helsinki to both Kittilä and Ivalo.
Earlier this year, Finnair revealed direct flights from London, Paris and Zurich to Lapland next winter, from the middle of December 2017 until the end of March 2018.
