First international excursion train from Moscow to Chinese capital
A first international excursion train spanning the enormous and undeveloped but scenically unforgettable distance between the Russian and Chinese capitals has reached its destination in Beijing two weeks after departing Kazanskiy station in Moscow. The passengers of the tourist train, which was organized by RZD Tour, the Federal Passenger Company and Intourist, were able to visit little-seen cities such as Novosibirsk and Irkutsk, the open spaces of Siberia, the Mongol steppes, deserts and the mountain ranges of China.
Accompanied by interpreters, the passengers were offered Russian national cuisine and were able to taste local delicacies along the way. They could take showers in their compartments and visit two restaurants on the train as well as a bar and a canteen.
