Most expensive-ever cruise suite launches

Cruise line to debut suite the size of a house in 2016

A new luxury cruise ship sailing for the first time in July 2016 will have one of the biggest and most expensive suites ever offered at sea, charging US$5,000 (€4380) a night, per person, for the privilege of experiencing a voyage there.

The luxury Regent Seven Seas suite on its future Explorer vessel is the size of a house, with 360 square meters of space. Designed for between two and four people, the suite will have two bedrooms, views from three sides of the ship, a grand piano and private sauna, steam room and treatment area.

Regent will have no problems selling the suite, predicts Carolyn Spencer Brown, editor of On any ship, “the top-priced suite and the cheapest cabins are always the first to go,” she says.

Regent Seven Seas Explorer, which will carry 750 guests and is Regent’s first new ship since 2003, will initially sail in Europe, the first of its 11 sailings from Monte Carlo to Venice.
