MSC to be third biggest cruise line in 2013

But MSC Cruises will remain far behind the top two

By capacity, MSC Cruises will become the third biggest cruise line this year, according to the 2013 Cruise Industry News Annual Report, trailing only Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean International.
Because the MSC Preziosa is being delivered this month, the Italian line will carry more than 1.45 million passengers on 12 ships this year, giving it a 9.4% capacity increase over last year. This pushes it past Norwegian Cruise Line, Costa Crociere and Princess Cruises. Norwegian also has 12 ships, while Princess, with 17, sails longer cruises.
However, since Carnival and Royal Caribbean will carry in excess of 3 million passengers each, MSC will remain a distant third.
