New cruise trend: cultural exchange programs

Passengers in Greenland visit a school and watch a football match

More and more cruise passengers want to return home with meaningful experiences and memories. So some cruise lines are offering them debates. The onboard discussions include cultural and political topics, particularly related to the places the ships dock at. The seminars are given an extra dimension with shore excursions. For example, Crystal Cruises brings political and world-affairs experts on its cultural exchanges. And on a Hurtigruten cruise in Greenland passengers can learn about Inuit culture through a visit to a local school and watching a football match with the locals.
