New group to run on both companies’ commercial activities
The global hospitality companies Carlson and the Rezidor Hotel Group have just announced that they will do business together as the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. Although the legal status and ownership structure of the two hotel companies remain the same, the new group will take on all commercial activities – namely “the global alignment and management of its brands, the development of its revenue generation engines, global purchasing opportunities and people development, on a global basis”.
Carlson and Rezidor have a long history of cooperation over the last two decades. “Going to market as one is a next and natural step,” said Hubert Joly, Carlson’s president and CEO.
The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is to market itself as “one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, with a portfolio of more than 1,300 hotels, a global footprint covering 80 countries, and a powerful set of global brands.” The group’s new website, carlsonrezidor.com, will launch on February 1.
