New sauna forum planned in Finland

World Sauna Forum is all about well-being and business
The first ever World Sauna Forum is being planned for Jyväskylä, central Finland, for September. Aiming to be “a significant annual meeting place for operators in the sauna field all over the world”, it also promises an interesting array of speakers.
The association Sauna from Finland is organising the new event, which will gather together Finnish sauna companies and offer an opportunity for international networking.
The event consists of “inspiring speakers from different aspects of sauna cultures and of a comprehensive sauna experience exhibition, where you can explore the latest sauna products, such as complete saunas, sauna stoves, textiles, hot tubs and sauna innovations,” the organisers say.
“The event is a display into the versatile world of the Finnish sauna: ideas, networking and business. The visitor can also have a concrete sauna experience because saunas and hot tubs will be heated up in the event.”
Keynote speaker is Meik Wiking, chief executive of the Happiness Research Institute and bestselling author of the book Little Book of Hygge, The Danish Way to Live Well, which has been translated to 27 languages.
Speakers also include cardiologist Jari Laukkanen, whose research field has expanded to sauna bathing and its health effects, and Tiina Parviainen, director of the Jyväskylä Centre for Interdisciplinary Brain Research and Department of Psychology.
As a company case, the hotel chain Original by Sokos Hotels will describe how the sauna experience can be a strategic competitive advantage and how the quality of its saunas have improved to meet the Sauna from Finland quality criteria.
