Søren M Overgaard has experience in transportation sector
Nordic Aviation Capital, the world’s biggest lessor of regional turboprop aircraft, has announced the appointment of Søren M Overgaard as its new chief executive officer, with immediate effect.
Overgaard is no stranger to the company, having played a key role in the senior management team for the last three years, joining in 2012 as chief financial officer.
He previously held senior positions at the transportation companies AP Moller Group, Maersk and Damco Europe. As chief of Nordic Aviation Capital, he succeeds Kim Graven-Nielsen.
“We have an especially exciting year ahead in 2016 with increasing opportunities opening up worldwide in the regional airline sector,” said Martin Moller, chairman of Nordic Aviation Capital. “Søren’s deep knowledge of the business is invaluable.”
Founded in Denmark in 1990, Nordic Aviation Capital has been profitable for the past two decades, achieving a 42% increase in operating profit to $239 million in its latest financial year ending June 30. Total assets increased by 45% to $3.2 billion.
