Nordic MICE Summit sets 2019 dates

The “great success” at the Danish-Swedish first edition will be followed up with a second event next October.

After what it describes as a “great success” with the first edition of the Nordic MICE Summit, the Denmark-based Congress Consulting Management Group (CCMG) has revealed the dates for the 2019 edition.

The new concept for MICE meetings organized in Malmö, Sweden, just over the bridge from Copenhagen, and held at Clarion Malmo Live, will be staged again on October 25-27 next year. But the destination is yet to be decided.

The first one-and-a-half day event had more than 100 participants from Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Sweden and Ukraine.

It consisted of speed business meetings in prearranged sessions, activities and competitions “in order to make great connections between buyers and suppliers”, the organisers said.

There was also a “special teambuilding activity” in the afternoon on the first day, while the first evening was informal and “all about buyers and suppliers connecting and competing”.

The other evening was a formal get-together hosted by the City of Malmö and held in the historical City Hall.

Nordic venues
With an intensified focus on the Nordic countries for hosting any type of meetings, incentives, conferences or events, the Nordic MICE Summit is billed as an event in two countries, with representatives from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland and “a chance to connect with suppliers for your future events”.

These included Nordic and European MICE suppliers, CVBs, DMCs, PCOs, Nordic and international hotel chains and independent hotels, boutique hotels, conference centres and unusual venues.
