Nordic players return to WTM’s LGBT Village

LGBT tourism globally is valued at $202 billion in 2014

WTM says that focus on the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender tourism market is increasing. It is also strengthening its strategic partnership with the LGBT consulting firm Out Now.

The move follows initial collaboration on themed exhibitor space during 2012 and 2013 for LGBT tourism at WTM events, coordinated by Out Now through its B2B networking program Out Now Business Class. Out Now Business Class is the world’s largest LGBT travel trade association.

In 2014, the ONBC Official LGBT Village returns to WTM for the third consecutive year, with similar LGBT villages scheduled for WTM Latin America and WTM Africa in 2015.

Exhibitors who featured in the LGBT villages at WTM in 2012 and 2013 included the Stockholm Visitors Board and Visit Helsinki, as well as visitBerlin, Antwerp Tourism & Congress, Visit Mexico, Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, Leemba Travel, Yucatan Holidays, World Outgames, GT Gay Times, DIVA magazine and Millivres Prowler.

LGBT tourism globally has been valued at $202 billion during 2014, based on 2013 expenditures as measured by the world’s largest LGBT research study LGBT2020.
