Nordic restaurants do well in world’s best list

Noma places third, Swedish restaurants in top 50
Famed chef René Redzepi and his team at the Copenhagen restaurant Noma are “only” third-best in the world, after being at the top spot for three years between 2010 and 2012. At World’s 50 Best Restaurants list presented in London, El Celler de Can Roca of Girona in Spain placed top, with Italy’s Osteria Frannescana in second.
Two Swedish restaurants made the top 50. Fäviken, in Jämtland, around 600 kilometres north of the capital Stockholm and headed by young chef Magnus Nilsson, found itself placed 25th best in the world. In Stockholm, Frantzén, run by Björn Frantzén, took 31st. Back in Copenhagen, Relæ was 45th best restaurant.
Other Danish entries in the top 100 include Geranium at 51, down from 42 in 2014, and Amass at 66, the first time it has appeared on the list.
Sayan Isaksson’s Esperanto, in Stockholm, popular for its Sweden-Japan fusion, placed at number 97.
