Nordics help support Tui 2013 bookings

Bookings for summer 2013 have increased by 9%

The Nordic markets have helped to strengthen this summer’s bookings at one the “big two” tour operators. Tui Travel’s first-quarter results revealed growth in both summer 2013 and the ongoing winter 2012-13. Bookings for summer 2013 have increased by 9%, following a 3% increase in capacity, while average selling prices are up 4%.
“We are pleased to report that our strong trading momentum has continued with particularly encouraging growth in the UK and Nordics,” Peter Long, chief executive of Tui Travel, said.
The operator said that “unique holiday sales”, which include both exclusive and differentiated product, now account for 84% of all holidays sold to date, a 3% rise on last year. Online sales for summer 2013 now account for 38% of the total at Tui Travel. The operator has now sold 39% of its overall program.
