Nordics to join Baltics in new MICE fair

Convene creates partnerships to guarantee buyers before 2013 event

The countries and cities of Scandinavia will likely join a new meetings exhibition that may one day rival IMEX and EIBTM. The new annual exhibition, called Convene, has signed strategic partnerships to ensure it “delivers on its promise” to bring high-quality buyers to the inaugural event in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius on 13-14 February 2013. These partnerships, with the Meetings Show UK and Conventa, are designed to allow Convene’s organisers to engage with corporates and agencies from across Europe. Nordic participants are slated to join Convene in full from 2014.
Convene 2013 ( will be the Baltic Sea region’s first exhibition for meetings, events and incentives. Organised by the Vilnius Convention Bureau alongside Paul Kennedy, owner and director of the UK-based international meetings industry business consultancy Kennedy Consulting, it will be held annually at the Litexpo exhibition and congress centre in Vilnius. A series of fam-trips is planned.
