Norway PM will “never travel with Ryanair”

Former cabin crew prepare to sue the airline

Ryanair is facing growing criticism in Norway over alleged mistreatment of its employees. The accusations have prompted Norway’s prime minister, Jens Stoltenberg, to say he would never travel with Ryanair, which, as the news agency AFP puts it, is “a no-frills airline that makes most of its money by charging for optional extras”.
Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary flew in to Norway on Thursday to reject the accusations. Two former cabin crew are preparing to sue the carrier for unfair dismissal and breaching labour laws, describing their employment as “a contract of slavery”. Unions and politicians in Norway are calling for a boycott of the company.
However, O’Leary insisted to journalists at Oslo Rygge airport that Ryanair fully respects European legislation.
