Norway sets gingerbread train record

Newly opened train station smashes world record
Norway is king of the gingerbread again, as a train station there shows off the longest gingerbread train ever made – for the second time in five years.
The 370.75 metre-long gingerbread train has been on display at a newly opened station in Holmestrand, southwest of Oslo, smashing the previous record of 206 metres, set in 2011 at Oslo Central Station.
Almost 700kg of gingerbread dough and the labour of 800 schoolchildren were needed to make the train in time for Prime Minister Erna Solberg arriving to officially open the new station.
However, the gingerbread train is not approved for human consumption and will probably be given as an early Christmas present to local pigs to eat.
