Norwegian: preferred airline of UK government

Deal potentially worth more than €1mn for the airline
Norwegian has been named a preferred airline of the UK government in a deal potentially worth more than €1 million for the company.
The new agreement will provide discounted air travel for 300,000 central government officials from 18 departments, to more than 50 destinations from the UK.
Norwegian is now one of the few non-UK airlines to become part of the government’s Crown Air Programme, at least for the next two years, joining carriers such as British Airways and easyJet.
Norwegian is growing rapidly in the UK having launched more than 10 routes there in the past year and is expanding its low-cost flights to the USA by more than 50% this summer.
Norwegian says its lower fares will “keep the cost of booking international business travel as low as possible for central government officials, saving money for the UK taxpayer”.
