Properties in South Florida are releasing scents into the lobby

Some hotels in South Florida have begun a new trend – releasing scents into the lobby to brighten the atmosphere and delight guests as they walk in. The Mandarin Oriental Miami burns incense in a box twice a day. The idea has caught on at other major chain hotels, which light candles or use scent diffusing machines. There is the scent of a hotel marketing trend, of course, the message to guests being serenity and calm. A stay at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach may include the scent of mango and peaches, a night at the Gansevoort Miami Beach will bring a scent of green tea.
