Latvian tourists to spend €500-550 on package trips
Latvians are prepared to spend €500-550 on average on package holidays, the head of one of the country’s biggest tour operators tells the news agency BNS.
The cost of a package trip varies significantly depending on the time of the season, said Leonids Mocenovs, director of Novatours. The price of a trip to Turkey in May, or low season, and August, during high season could vary by 40-50%.
As for winter trips, Mocenovs said that Novatours began selling them in May and more than 50% have been sold, with charter flights almost full up until the end of 2015.
This winter season, Latvians mostly heading to Egypt due to its favourable price-quality ratio and family entertainment. Tenerife in the Canaries is another popular destination, followed by skiing trips to France and Italy. There is also some demand for Thailand and Dubai.
