Portuguese airport workers strike

Disruptions to and from Portugal likely this weekend
Passengers flying in and out of Portugal may face delays, longer check-in times and longer baggage reclaim if an airport strike goes ahead this weekend.
Unions are planning to walk out over three days from July 1, up to and including July 3.
British Airways, for example, is warning passengers to check in online and print boarding passes, ensuring that queues can be minimised.
“There may be longer waiting times at check-in and baggage reclaim areas at certain times of the day at Lisbon, Porto and Faro airports,” a statement on the BA website reads.
“If you are flying from Portugal on one of the three potential strike days, please do all you can to check-in online before coming to the airport, print your boarding pass and carry it with you.
BA added: “The situation may be liable to change at short notice, so please keep checking the status of your flight before travelling to the airport.”
However, there was some relief as Eurocontrol announced that a series of planned strikes by Portugal’s air traffic control workers had been called off. They had been due to walk out on June 30 and July 8, 15 and 29.
